“Just last month at the White House, I asked President Obama to provide the American people with a progress report on the implementation of his Executive Order, which purports to ban taxpayer-funding of abortions. Unfortunately, the President provided no information, and the American people are still waiting for answers." President Obama pledged that under his health care plan “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.” In a May 13 letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Boehner asked if her department has provided guidance to the states on how to implement the president’s Executive Order on abortion funding. Boehner also asked Sebelius if the new federal high-risk pools would exclude abortion coverage. He says his questions remain unanswered.<<<<<Isn't this how the whole Arizona law debacle began? |

What is it about this administration and sticking their heads in the sand?...or up their ass |
|
marnesdad 1 year, 7 months ago |
This is $160M applied for by Pennsylvania and allocated to Pennsylvania by the Federal Government for the creation of high-risk insurance pools as designated in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act... There's NOTHING in the HHS funding allocation that says the money is used directly for abortions... and, of course, I challenge any of you to find it... This is just more unfounded sniping at a law you couldn't stop... (Clue: If Boehner is saying it, wait until after he embarrasses himself to jump on his back) |

leave it to you to stick your head up your ass as well. nicely done foo |

For you people who hate suspense, the HHS-approved Pennsylvania proposal for the $160M in funds to run their state's high-risk pool insurance (a federal program) specifically states that "elective abortions are not covered". Oh, well.... On to the next unfounded whine.... |

So, finding proof that explains everything and not listening to what other people with agendas tell me is 'sticking my head up my ass'?? Okay, Heidi.... whatever floats your sinking boat... |

Tell me.... does just having what you believe fed to you by others make you happier? It's sounds easy... |

Unlike you, there's NO ONE telling me what to believe. You've posted something here that turned out to be untrue (what a surprise). Your kind does this a lot... As long as you recognize it (which you clearly do) I'm cool with you wandering off into the woods... Drudge...? LOL.... |

I didn't have much bandwidth to research this so I'm still open to confirm it. U know how you really prove it? Find someone in PA who actually gets one and can prove it. Until then, it's hard with the paper trail. |
|
marnesdad 1 year, 7 months ago |
AW, if you type in 'Pennsylvania $160 million abortion' you will see page after page after page of the blogs and rightwing 'news' outlets all saying the same thing... It took me twelve minutes to find the Governor's press release, then the PA Insurance site, then the actual pdf of the approved proposal... page 14. Do you really think it's possible that no one, not even Rep Boehner himself, thought to find out the truth for themselves?... Twelve minutes. |
|
AndrewWilkowFan 1 year, 7 months ago |
Yeah, it's hard to verify something when you have both sides chiming opinions. Even if the governor released something (being from PA originally), you have to fact check it. I think our final answer to this will come when an actual person receives money from the state for an abortion. Problem would be tracing the money outright. If you hand federal money to one group as a middleman, how can you know if they took the same money to hand it for an abortion. Does the paper trail go cold there? I think right now, no one knows the true answer until someone does get one. |
|
marnesdad 1 year, 7 months ago |
AW, sorry... I think you misunderstood. The 'final answer' is the proposal submitted by the State of Pennsylvania and approved by the HHS.... It's right there for all to see... This isn't a 'we'll have to wait and see' scenario... It's right there... The funding does not cover elective abortions. Period. |

Abortions: Includes only abortions and contraceptives that satisfy the requirements of 18 Pa.C.S. § 3204-3206 and 35 P.S. §§10101, 10103-10105. 1. Elective abortions are not covered. Services rendered to treat illness or injuries resulting from an elective abortion are covered. |

Good catch. That's the research you do to verify any politician. |
