Don't get me started on this one. I work in the civil engineering field. The state I work in has recently adopted new regulations through pressure from environmental groups that make any and I mean any changes to an existing piece of land next to impossible. For example, you could take a lot that is 100% paved, take out the paving, plant trees over the whole site, but you still have to manage the rainwater on the site. It's totally out of control. There's a big difference between a Conservationist and and Environmentalist. Environmentalism is doing more damage to our lakes, rivers and streams than mild pollution from humans. |
