Does anyone know what information the American people have to legally / Constitutionally disclose on the US Census? I was under the impression you only have to legally provide the ages and numbers of people in the household? |

I consider myself "Other: American". But I thought about putting myself down as Middle Eastern since I can trace my roots back to the area between the Tigris and Euphrates river. It is well documented in the Bible. |

Article I, section 2 of the Constitution only says that the census will be conducted 'in such a manner as they, by law, direct'... You'll need to give whatever information they (Congress) has decided they need from you... |

We're all "OTHER" unless we are Native American, aren't we? |

My understanding is that you do not have to give ANY financial information about yourself. You also do not have to give your SSN. I believe that the only requirement is that you state how many people reside in your home, and probably how many are in your family. Further, they should have some form of valid ID, most likely a badge and credential. |

For the purposes that the Constitution is trying to serve, just counting 'who is where and how many' would do it... BUT, the Constitution specifically says that the 'manner' is up to Congress.... |
